Vintage 1940s Christine Original Black Velour Hat Black 。This beautiful 1940s\' black straw fedora consists of a tall crown which is slanted at the top towards the front, and has a slight crease at the center. It is surrounded by an oval shaped, shorter brim and a gold colored fabric band. There is a matching fabric bow which holds a pair of awesome yellow feathers with long quills to finish the look. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war and on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling and artificial flowers were popular. There is no designer label, however there is a small label stating a number 87493 UNION MADE. This hat is in wonderful vintage condition and has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers are fragile, given their age. Mannequin not for sale.
